As part of the Year of Parish Renewal 2026 (YPR 2026) in the Archdiocese of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith continued his pastoral visits to parishes across the Archdiocese.

On Ascension Sunday, His Eminence visited the Katukurunda Parish of St. Mary’s Church, Morotuwa, where he was warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Erington Silva, together with the faithful of the parish.

Following the celebration of the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord and the Eucharistic Liturgy, His Eminence engaged in a cordial discussion with the parish community. During the visit, he also met with the Parish Pastoral Council, various lay apostolates, and parish societies, encouraging them in their mission of renewal, communion, and active participation within the life of the Church.

The pastoral visit forms part of the wider YPR 2026 initiative aimed at strengthening parish life and fostering deeper faith formation throughout the Archdiocese of Colombo.
