The residents, staff, and well-wishers of Miduma - Rehabilitation Center recently came together to celebrate the Sinhala and Tamil New Year in an atmosphere filled with joy, unity, and renewed hope.

The celebration reflected the rich cultural traditions of Sri Lanka while also highlighting the deeper values of healing, reconciliation, and new beginnings that are at the heart of Miduma’s mission. Traditional New Year customs, games, festive foods, and moments of fellowship created a vibrant and family-centered environment for all who participated.

Residents enthusiastically took part in the activities, experiencing not only the joy of the season but also the importance of community, encouragement, and shared celebration during their journey of recovery. The event served as a reminder that every new beginning offers an opportunity for transformation and hope.

Established in 2005 under the Archdiocese of Colombo, Miduma continues its dedicated ministry of drug and alcohol demand prevention and rehabilitation, providing holistic care rooted in compassion, dignity, and faith. The center supports individuals and families affected by addiction through rehabilitation programs, counseling, spiritual guidance, vocational formation, and community reintegration initiatives.

Through celebrations such as the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Miduma seeks to foster a sense of belonging and restore confidence and hope among its residents as they journey toward a healthier and renewed life.

We invite all people of goodwill to continue supporting the mission of Miduma through prayer, awareness, and encouragement as the center continues its important work in building lives free from addiction.
